Supply List

Fabric as required (see below)
Colored Pencils ( 6 colors is plenty)
Sewing machine
Rotary cutting tools (just a 12" ruler and a small mat are necessary if you
have precut your fabric)
Sewing basket supplies
2-3 ziplok bags to take parts home

Fabric Requirements
For the background only, please use subtle prints, no solids, no directional fabrics, no stripes or plaids. Please cut
the fabrics shown on the cutting chart on the next page before class.

Background Fabric - 1 3/8 yard
Ribbon Border - 3/8 yard each of 2 coordinating fabrics
Accent fabric (large star)- 3/8 yard
A darker background for the center star - 3/8 yard

Cutting for the Built-In Borders Class
The quilt is called Twist and Shine. It is a Star Within a Star design with a Twisted Ribbon border. The cutting instructions above will yield all the pieces you need for the whole quilt except for the small center star, which we
will cut in class, or after you get home.

The ribbon has a front and a back. You can use a dark and medium fabric of the same color for the ribbons, or you can use two different colors. Just be sure that there is some contrast between the two colors so the ribbon "twists".

Bring all your cut pieces to class, as well as the left-over fabric. We will use the left-overs for the center star.
