Requirements:

Quilt size: Lap –
51" x 68"
Background – 1 1/2 yards
Outer border – 2 1/2 yards
Dark prints – 1/2 yard total
assorted prints*
Medium prints – 3/4 yard total assorted prints*
Light prints – 1/4 yard total assorted prints*
Border squares – 1/4 yard
Border hexagons – 3/8 yard |

*Assorted
prints – you can make each block using the same fabrics, or vary the
fabrics from block to block. If you choose assorted prints, these are the
requirements.
For
each Laurel Wreath block, you'll need
- 2"
x 40" strip for the dark
- 2"
x 40" strip for the medium
- 2"
x 20" strip for the light
- A
3 1/2" square for the center of the block
For
each Star block, you'll need
- 2
1/2" x 20" strip for the star points (dark)
- 4
1/2" square for the star center (medium)
For
the Border squares and hexagons
- Assorted
3 1/2" squares for the hexagons
- Assorted
2" squares
Cutting:
The following is all the cutting
for the lap quilt. We won't be using
all the pieces in class, but if you bring them all, you'll get more sewing done.
My goal is for you to get one of each of the blocks done in class. If you want a
larger quilt, you will be able to cut the rest of it at home.
